The blog title pretty much says it all. No prizes for guessing that this is a record of my forthcoming trip to the UK – accompanied by my Australian-born daughter, Alex – to trace one or two branches of the family tree. In addition to the genealogical aspect I shall also be revisiting some of the more immediate past of my own childhood spent in Yorkshire.
Arriving in London on September 24th, 2007 we shall be spending a few days in London before taking to the open road and touring the length and breadth of England and Scotland with a brief excursion into Wales, touching on the cities and towns that have some bearing on our heritage. Of course there are other attractions – can’t forget the Dr. Who Exhibition in Cardiff and Cadbury World in Bournville, near Birmingham – which have absolutely nothing to do with family history but a lot to do with just having fun.
